Hi All
Been very busy - but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Only two more teaching weeks left and then a nice easy week prior to the Christmas week which will be even easier!! Just for now, look at this great equation:
Energy = milk chocolate squared

Those clever spiders....
Morning - early morning on Saturday, I took this picture of a group of spider webs. They're even better on a freezing cold frosty morning in winter. As a kid in the Vale of York, they were a daily sight but the warmer climes of Sheffield mean that you rarely get the thick frosts needed. Anyhow, here is the summer version.

Guitar building
Hi All
Well, term is fast approaching and I'm beginning to psyche myself up for the new 131 first years (well about 125 are new and 6 are repeats having failed last year)! October 1st marks the beginning of my 19th year in Hicks!
Anyhow, to much more important things! I've finished building my first classical guitar! There'll be plenty more photos to come soon and hopefully a sound clip or two of me playing it, but just for now, here are two photos of "Juanita" in her case. The name "Juanita" by the way is because I was given loads and loads of advice and support for this project by a good friend at work, John C.
More soon.....

Marking!!!
Hello All - I'm back!! Where have I been? I've been knee deep marking exam papers!!!!
This is my latest abstract art - "The Marker's Nest". For those not in the business of marking university exams, the students tie separate answer booklets for different sections of exams together with a short piece of string. The marker has to cut off / untie the string to separate the scripts. Hence each bit of string represents maybe 15 minutes of work.
Others images are of a cold Sunday afternoon at Clumber Park and our back garden in the snow.
The one of the Sun is taken from the Austin Room at work.
